Cai Wenji was a writer and historian. She was born in 174 AD and was the daughter of a well-known scholar in the East Han Dynasty –Cai Yong. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty many wars broke out and Cai Wenji was captured by the Xiongnu cavalry. She became the wife of Zuoxian Wang with whom she had two sons.
