Zhuo Wenjun was a famous woman in the Western Han Dynasty. Her family was very rich. She was very beautiful and good at playing stringed instruments. After the death of her husband many famous men asked for her hand in marriage but she bravely broke the feudal ethics and married a poor scholar called Sima Xiangru. They eloped to Chengdu and lived by selling wine. Wenjun sold wine and Xiangru had numerous employments. They were not afraid of people’s ridicule and finally Sima Xiangru became world-famous. This story was passed down over the years by the civil people.
