Xieyi, freehand brushwork in traditional Chinese painting. It is also known as "Xibi", relative to “gongbi”. “Xieyi” is one of the Chinese painting techniques. This technique needs a solid basis of modeling and painting skills. With concise and fast strokes and vivid description, Xieyi paintings depict the manner and charm of physical images.
